Barstool Bracketology: Version 1

It’s never too early for Bracketology, especially if you’re stuck sitting in the cubes today. The first one of the year is always a massive pain in the ass just because of all the little rules i.e. first 3 conference selections have to go in different regions, no rematches in the 1st round and then trying to figure out who is going to win the smaller conferences. I’m the first to admit, there’s probably a mistake in here somewhere. That’s just the Barstool difference.

What I realized in doing this though is just how weak the bubble is going to be. With how down the A-10 and AAC are this year, it’s going to make for more teams like TCU or Kansas State or Utah sneak in. Hell, even the other mid-majors aren’t going to get 2-bids like the Missouri Valley or the WCC isn’t going to get 3 with BYU. As long as teams avoid the bad loss (sub-200 teams) they should find themselves sitting okay come Selection Sunday.

I know people will say Baylor deserves the No. 1 seed right now, but this based on a combo of projections and current results. Baylor’s not going to win the Big 12, which will ultimately cost them the No. 1 spot. Duke will only get better (hello, Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum). After that the toughest thing to figure out was what to do with Indiana. They have 2 of the best wins this year but also 2 of the worst losses. That has to come into play, which ultimately cost them a No. 4 seed to a No. 6. You can tell me they will win the title or lose in the first round and I’d believe you.

So what do you agree/disagree with? Let me know @barstoolreags. But, if you’re stuck at the cube at least you have something to get irrationally angry about until your boss lets you leave.
